Shortly after Homenetmen’s formation in Melbourne, basketball and soccer teams were registered within the local respective competitions and in December 1967, the inaugural Navasartian Games in Australia was held in Sydney of which the Homenetmen Melbourne Chapter also participated. During those early years, athletes, officials and supporters would be welcomed in the homes of their Sydney compatriots and these arrangements were reciprocated when the Sydney teams would visit Melbourne on the alternating year.
Since the early days of formation, the Homenetmen Arax has developed many sporting teams and scouting groups spanning several generations and amongst other things has participated as the Australian representative team in the fist Pan Armenian games, (held in Canada in 1981) and scouting jamborees held in Armenia.
